In Plain English: What This Factor Describes

The co-occupancy of the same zodiac sign by Jupiter (Guru, representing ethical wisdom) and Rahu or Ketu (the lunar shadow nodes).

In traditional Jyotisha, Jupiter symbolizes formal tradition, ethics, and scholarship, while Rahu symbolizes unconventional exploration. Their alliance invites questioning established dogma and pioneering independent worldviews.

Classical Formation Conditions

Evaluates whether Jupiter shares an identical Nirayana Sidereal whole-sign Rashi with Rahu or Ketu in the D1 birth chart.

• Evaluated using Sidereal Chitrapaksha (Lahiri) whole-sign Nirayana houses.
• Requires true geocentric planetary longitudes computed deterministically.

Classical Cancellations & Exceptions (Parihara)

In classical Jyotisha, no planetary combination is evaluated in a vacuum. Classical authors documented precise mitigating rules that modify or completely neutralize perceived friction:

Jupiter in Own Sign (Swakshetra)
When Jupiter resides in Sagittarius or Pisces, its domicile power preserves ethical clarity and philosophical depth against illusion.
Jupiter Exalted in Cancer (Uchha)
In Cancer, Jupiter’s exaltation elevates unconventional curiosity into compassionate, universal spiritual insight.
Wide Longitudinal Separation (>10°)
When Jupiter and Rahu are separated by more than 10 degrees within the sign, direct energetic friction is substantially softened.

What This Factor Does NOT Mean

Guru Chandal is not a sign of moral degradation. When integrated consciously, it produces reformative thinkers, investigative scholars, and cross-cultural educators who challenge outdated assumptions.

⚠️ RASHINOS never claims deterministic life outcomes, medical diagnoses, marriage guarantees, or the necessity of commercial rituals. Astrology is an ancient interpretive tradition, not empirical certainty.
